Europeans not ready for Congo mission
Manchester News.Net Wednesday 3rd December, 2008
A European mission for the Democratic Republic of Congo has been abandoned due to more conflict in the east of the country.
Rebels have refused to accept a peace plan from the provincial government.
European Union leaders in Brussels have decided there is little chance of forming a European mission in Congo while fighting is still intense.
France, which currently holds the EU's rotating presidency, had on Monday called for urgent European action on a mission.
Rebels led by general Laurent Nkunda have flatly rejected proposals by the provincial governor of the eastern Nord-Kivu province to lay down their arms.

Europeans not ready for Congo mission
What mission, let us mind our own business, and let these childish countries grow, and when they are mature enough they can join the civilized societies of this world.
European leaders should not make at risk the innocent lives of our citizens to bail out countries that do not practice civility.
