Robert Gates says he is in harmony with Obama
Manchester News.Net Wednesday 3rd December, 2008
US Defense Secretary Robert Gates has revealed that he has an "open-ended" agreement to remain at the Pentagon under incoming President Barack Obama.
Gates said he would not be a caretaker secretary and scotched media reports of him being given a time frame of just a year to serve under Obama.
Gates said: "With the country fighting two wars, and our men and women in uniform at risk, if the president asked me to help, there's no way I can say no."
Gates said that re-examining the US military's "strategy and approach" in Afghanistan would be a top priority in the next administration.
He indicated that he is in agreement with Obama when it comes to a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq.
Gates said Obama's statements about pursuing a "responsible drawdown" and consulting the commanders on the ground give him confidence in Obama's stance on the issue.
"Nobody wants to put at risk the gains that have been achieved with so much sacrifice on the part of our soldiers and the Iraqis," he added.
He said he would also work with Congress to create legislation to enable the closure of the Guantanamo Bay military prison.

Robert Gates says he is in harmony with Obama
I say; Bring all the troops home, and let these countries fight their own battles, without outside meddling, and let Mr. Gates enjoy his retirement.
It is time that America turns a new leaf, and become constructive, and not destructive for humanity,.
I believe that the people of this planet are sick and tired of all of these wars, police actions, bailing countries out of their domestic difficulties, which are of a hereditary nature, and without clear solutions to be resolved, because these people just do not compromise with each other in a peaceful, diplomatic manner, so it would be wise to bail out of these countries. and let them resolve their own problems as the see fit.

2012 DAN QUAYLE Coalition: Unlike George W. Bush administration or the black Marxist Obama plays the Intimacy-or-Sparsity foreign policy, or the ObaBush policy to fight Obama’s Afghanistan War. Secretary Robert M. Gates, the (R) 2012 DAN QUAYLE Coalition likes to has our unique new CIA team and unique Commander-in-Chief leadership to reform Pentagon, unique clean hands to fresh start the chessboard. Therefore Secretary Gates, you ONLY speak for your own term of military duties and leadership; but nothing to beyond the 2012 DAN QUAYLE presidential candidacy.

Don’t be fools, Mr. Gates is telling us that they want stations not bases.
Whatever that does or doesn’t mean to you I can tell you that not all men will come home and it will still take large numbers to do what Obama wants done, my guess is that Bill Clinton has had some say too, expect the Gulf War when you write the monthly budget and when the militaries write the plans.
I’m in Mr Gates, you’re on and it won’t be the first time, I’m fine Omar. My time is limited for the next few days but because I’m in super watch mode. Spread thin and keeping it all off and a blind note to Omar, BISMILLAH.
