Luxury seating available in some aircraft
Manchester News.Net Wednesday 28th July, 2010
Some airline passengers may be feeling more comfortable in their seats, with dozens of airlines opting to install wider seats with more leg room.
The trend for airline companies to trade in old-model seats for newer ones has especially taken off with Singapore Airlines, which has even introduced a deluxe cabin, known as the "Singapore Suite."
The cabin is more lavish, and more exclusive, than first class on all Singapore Airline A380 aircraft, the world's largest passenger plane.
The private cabin in the sky contains a seat that is three feet wide and fully adjustable to allow for a full range of seating, and lounging positions.
A bed inside the suite is designed separately and does not convert from the seat itself.
For couples, a double bed can be configured.
The suite also offers gourmet dining, with travellers allowed to choose from Don Perignon or Krug champagne.
It also offers a 23-inch TV monitor and a selection of more than 700 music CDs and 120 movies.
The ticket price for the "Singapore Suite" from Singapore to London return is $15,000. Email this story to a friend

Luxury seating changes soothe air travellers
$15,000 is a lot of money. In some Asian countries that amount will feed 5 people for a few months.
