RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Former Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira arrived in Brazil on Tuesday to join Palmeiras after completing a move from Fulham.

The 29-year-old touched down at Guarulhos international airport in Sao Paulo wearing the club's newly released green and yellow shirt and accompanied by his family.

Palmeiras confirmed last week that Pereira had signed a contract through December 2028 in a deal reportedly worth 10 million euros (11.6 million U.S. dollars).

The Brazilian Football Confederation said on Tuesday his paperwork had been finalized, making him eligible to play.

He is expected to make his debut in Palmeiras' home Serie A match against Internacional on September 13.

Born in Belgium, Pereira has been capped 10 times for Brazil. He made 119 appearances for Fulham after joining from United in 2022.
